Ek Kanya Kunwari Season 1 (2026)

The Dave family frantically prepares their home, located in a disputed old school compound, for a prospective groom’s visit to meet their daughter, Shivani. During the meeting, Shivani and the suitor, Vivek, connect away from the family and openly discuss their respective careers and finances. Shivani reveals she earns 7.5 lakh per annum, which is higher than Vivek’s 6.5 lakh package. Though Vivek appears unbothered by the income disparity, the matchmaker, Sharda Maasi, later informs the family that Vivek’s mother rejected the proposal. She felt Shivani’s higher salary meant she was not “low profile” enough and would view household chores as a burden rather than a duty. Pressured by a pandit’s astrological warning that her marriage must be finalized within three months, a frustrated Shivani reluctantly agrees to meet another suitor the following Sunday. Meanwhile, the episode concludes on a tense cliffhanger as her father, Vasantlal, secretly opens a legal court order demanding the family vacate their premises—a looming crisis he hides from his wife.
